![]() Click on a headline to open/close any news story. 20 November 2008: N.H.I.C. Excellence in Roofing award retainedOur 2007 N.H.I.C. Excellence in Roofing award for Penoyre House has been repeated with our Rectory House project securing the 2008 award.
02 October 2008: Clay Roofing Award securedThe judges called it "an outstanding project illustrating everything which is important about a professional approach to a serious roofing problem. Being a listed building every attention was paid to detail yet cost savings were firmly considered at every stage including the selection of an acceptable solution to the original tiles." This is the second year in succession that we have won the award and the third time in total, after our success in 2002 with Cefn Mably House. Our recent success in various industry award ceremonies has continued with our project at Charlton Farm, Wraxall winning first place in the Commercial (new build) category of the 2008 Clay Roofing Awards.
16 May 2008: N.F.R.C. commendation receivedThe judges commended the project for blending the new-build elements well with the existing and very traditional farm buildings without compromising the original architectural integrity of the site. 16 May 2008: Additional N.F.R.C. Health & Safety Award receivedRectory House in the Vale of Glamorgan required a 475m2 roof renewal using natural Canadian slates in coloured bands. More information on this project is available here. This is the third year in succession that we have had a project recognised by the N.F.R.C.
In addition to the Gold Safety Award which we secured in March, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors has awarded us a further prize, in recognition of our Health & Safety performance in 2007.
30 April 2008: Website UpdateThis marks the achievement of the highest score in this year's independent Health & Safety assessment process, in the slating and tiling sector. The award was presented to us at the N.F.R.C. Annual Congress, held in Cardiff. This is a direct result of our extensive Health & Safety training policy, which has an annual budget equivalent to 25% of our profits.
A new menu system has been incorporated into our website, which hopefully makes browsing an easier and more enjoyable
14 March 2008: N.F.R.C. Gold Safety Award achieved for 2007experience for our visitors. For the fifth year in succession, we have been awarded a Gold standard safety award from the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, for 2007.
12 March 2008: Best Supplier commendation received from Willmott Dixon ConstructionWe have actually received N.F.R.C. safety awards every year for the last 10 years, to a minimum Silver standard, but have consistently achieved a Gold status since 2003. This again underlines the continued efforts being made to increase safety awareness amongst our workforce and improve the safety of our operations.
Willmott Dixon's annual supplier awards were held on 12 March and resulted in a commendation for Camilleri Roofing within
19 February 2008: Rectory House confirmed as N.F.R.C. Award finalistthe "Best Supplier" Category. We have held a "Preferred" status with Willmott Dixon for a number of years and our performances on recent contracts have been recognised by the Main Contractor's assessment process with the following comments made: • "Very good subby and would want to use again." • "Excellent, very proactive." • "Performed very well on site, good quality." • "Impressed with their ability - met all key target dates." • "Very good site supervision." Our sub-contractor score on the most recently assessed project was 91%.

We have reached the finals of these awards every year since their inauguration three years ago. The Awards presentation luncheon is to be held in Cardiff on 16 May.

22 November 2007: Penoyre House secures N.H.I.C. Awardof a football kit for the junior section 5-a-side team. The company, now in it's 60th year, is preparing for next month's Battallion Tournament. This year also sees the 125th anniversary of the Boy's Brigade since it was formed on October 4 1883."
Our entry for the 2007 National Home Improvement Council "Excellence in Roofing" award has secured first place at the awards luncheon held in Whitehall, London.The judges commented that this was a "complex project requiring utmost skills and attention to detail, it was completed on time and to budget. The new owners' succinct comments are probably the ultimate accolade when they concluded 'there are only a few roofing companies in this country who could have tackled a project of this complexity in such a successful and efficient manner." 19 October 2007: New performance assessment initiative launched
Taking the lead from a number of our partnered Main Contractors, we have set up a new Key Performance Indicator system in order to assess our level of service on a project-by-project basis.
This covers all aspects of our operation including tendering, pre-contract, on-site operations, suryeying, financial, supervision & management and Health & Safety.
The information will be used to identify key areas for improvement as we seek to further our development and enhance the services which we offer.
27 September 2007: Local Sponsorship Round-up
Our support of local charities and organisations had a sporting theme this year as we contributed to a Penarth football team, Barry Eagles Under 9 football team and Cwrt Yr Ala Junior School's visit to Holland (which included a visit to Ajax FC).
11 September 2007: National Home Improvement Council Awards ![]() Our work at the refurbishment project of Penoyre House in Brecon has been selected as a finalist in this year's N.H.I.C. 2007 Awards.
The Awards Luncheon is to be held on 22 November, where we hope to repeat our success of 2002.
18 May 2007: Camilleri Roofing receive commendation at annual N.F.R.C. awards ![]() The annual N.F.R.C. awards congress (held today in Manchester) saw three of our contracts as finalists in the Slating, Tiling and Heritage categories.
07 March 2007: N.F.R.C. Gold Safety Award achieved - four years in successionAlthough none were successful, we received a commendation for our Penoyre House project where we were required to design a bespoke slate "slab and roll" system, to meet the requirements of Cadw. 16 February 2007: Prestigious Ryder Cup HQ contract securedThis is our fourth consecutive Gold Award and underlines the continued efforts being made to increase safety awareness amongst our workforce. ![]() Golf lovers will be descending on the Celtic Manor facility in Newport during September 2010 and our roof will be protecting the world class players who will be providing the entertainment.
11 December 2006: Record Turnover for the THIRD successive yearCamilleri Roofing has been appointed as the specialist roofing contractor to install a Redland Cambrian reconstituted slate roof, totalling over 2,150m2 in roof area and £90,000 in value. This will mark another return visit to the site where we have already successfully completed the Celtic Manor Resort, Golf Clubhouse and Golf Academy roofs.
Our total annual turnover for the year ended 31 October 2006, at £4.82 million, has set a new company record for the third year in a row. This is the result of continuous, steady growth for four years in succession.
19 May 2006: Pierhead Building scoops N.F.R.C. Annual AwardOur complex re-roofing of the prestigious Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay has secured first place in the slating category of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors' Annual Roofing Awards, held in Glasgow.
18 May 2006: Carillion Quality Award goes to Camilleri RoofingThe Judges said "the solution came from the contractor - and he's made it look easy"; "it looks fantastic and it was extremely difficult"; "if it had been badly done, it would have been a mess"; "it was technically difficult, and the imagination is impressive"; "outstanding". The £170,000 project was completed ahead of programme, despite the building being fully occupied during the works. The Management Contractor commented: "During the course of the works, we received a number of compliments from Cadw about the method and quality of your work, and from the National Assembly about the minimal amount of disruption caused to occupants of the building." The building, which is just yards away from the new Senedd Assembly building, now houses the Visitor and Education Centre of the National Assembly for Wales. ![]() Our workmanship at the new National Assembly for Wales offices in Merthyr Tydfil has been recognised by the Main Contractor. The 3,800m2 natural Welsh slate roof has now been completed and was awarded Carillion's South West and Wales Quality Award.
20 March 2006: N.F.R.C. Gold Safety Award achieved - three years runningThis prestigious project utilised Kingspan's KS1000TS slate support system which provides a composite insulated deck as a substrate to the Welsh slate finish. The decking and slating disciplines were both completed by Camilleri Roofing. Our innovative use of the "Oktopus" lifting system was subsequently featured in a Kingspan newsletter and is set to become part of their recommended installation procedure. ![]() Once again, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors' annual safety award scheme has resulted in a Gold Award for Camilleri Roofing.
